Choose the influential factor
This exercise describes different turning points in economic history. Look at the charts and try to work out what kind of information they seek to give.
Then choose one of the 12 alternatives that you think describes the economic phenomena shown in each of the charts. Join the statement to the chart by dragging it with your mouse.
There are 5 exercises in all and they open in a new browser window. Use the arrow keys to move to the next exercise. When you have completed the exercise, you can close the window by clicking Close.
How to complete the task: There are statistical charts and a list of texts on the exercise page. Drag the appropriate text over the chart. If the text is correct, explanatory feedback will appear on the screen. If you choose the wrong alternative, the text will revert to its original place and the program will prompt you to try again.
You can access the next chart by pressing the arrow keys. The texts remain on the screen while the charts change. The number of texts is reduced as the exercise progresses: used correct answers disappear from the list once the task has been completed correctly.
